A great class where little ones get to explore the art of dancing in both a structured and free environment.  The little ones get to learn while having the time of their life. There is a strong focus on the different elements of dance, Ballet being the core focus with a Jazz feel thrown in to make it even more fun. There is also a dress up box and lots of props involved.

BALLET

A classical dance form characterized by grace, precision, proper alignment and posture. We offer Royal Academy of dance syllabus which will teach students the knowledge of the vocabulary of ballet terminology and give them a qualification that is recognized across the world. The skills developed in Ballet are the foundation for many styles and levels of dance.

JAZZ

Based on the elements of Ballet and Modern Dance, this upbeat dance form incorporates stylized movements with technique. Dancers work on gaining strength, flexibility, endurance, coordination, musicality, and performance skills through class warm ups, progressions and combinations.

CONTEMPORARY

Lucidity contemporary is a stimulating and dynamic dance curriculum which explores emotional connection. Lucidity provides each student with solid technical training, performance training, and the platform to create, achieve and grow as a dancer and artist. Technical aspects include; controlled leg work, torso contract-release, floor work - fall and recovery.  Unpredictable changes in rhythm, speed and direction are incorporated.

The program is based on safe and effective progressions with proven results in five divisions of AcroDance: Flexibility, Strength, Balancing, Limbering and Tumbling.  Developed with input from professionals and experts in ballet, modern dance, jazz, contortion, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, sport acrobatics, yoga, acro yoga, pilates, physiotherapy, hand balancing and more, you will not find a more comprehensive program.  Simple thoughtful progressions take the beginner preschool level dancer from log rolls and summersaults to the advanced dancer tumbling effortlessly across the stage!

ACROBATICS

 

TAP

This unique tap syllabus is stimulating and dynamic - it merges old-school tap and modern styles.  There is emphasis on rhythm, performance and musicality.  Exercises are set to a range of exciting and up-to-date music.  Technique progresses logically through the levels; no new steps are introduced until they have either been mastered at the barre, or at a slower tempo to ensure students acquire new skills from a strong foundation. The syllabus has been designed to complement styles performed at competitions/eisteddfods, and in the higher grades, what students may be asked to perform in auditions.

This class is a favorite among many of our students. Everyone loves the opportunity to explore the new dance moves taught in this class, while also mastering the classic moves. MUSICAL THEATRE

Encore Theatre Dance provides a broad exploration of core genres within Musical Theatre.

This performance syllabus has been created to:

  • Build performance confidence

  • Develop understanding of dramatic role-playing 

  • Teach character immersion (learning to become/play characters with conviction) 

  • Educate students of the history and evolution of musical theatre styles by exposing them to the core classic and contemporary genres within musical theatre

  • Prepare students who wish to pursue careers in Musical Theatre

The focus is on achieving conviction of character and confident role playing through acting and dance.  Singing is encouraged but not compulsory.  This syllabus requires candidates to be training (or have trained) in another form of technical dance.

HIP HOP

Urban Ignition provides each student with solid technical training, performance training, and the platform to create, achieve and grow as a dancer and artist. The levels are made up of a series of exercises including arm and foot combinations, travel & turns, isolations, tutting, floor work, amalgamations and dances. The syllabus is fresh, vibrant and accessible for all ages and abilities from beginners to advanced.

International Dance Technique
                          - Elite Training

International Dance Technique is an exam Syllabus designed to develop plyometric agility, strength, fitness, flexibility and strong jazz technique in dancers of all ages and abilities. Age appropriate conditioning exercises to strengthen muscles, increase agility, control and power in dance combos, training in all relevant Kick, Turn and Jump techniques, PLUS Combos and Choreography created by leading industry professionals from around the world. All IDT exercises are short, easy to teach and easy for students to learn and retain. IDT aims to keep the dancer motivated to reach their full potential as a technical dancer. IDT includes progressive stretch exercises with emphasis on square splits and safe dance practice (without sacrificing the lines and shapes necessary for current technique elements).

ELITE TRAINING

 

PROGRESSING BALLET TECHNIQUE

Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) is an innovative body-conditioning and strengthening program that has been designed to enhance students' technique by focussing on training the muscle memory required in each exercise in all forms of dance. It is a unique training system using ballet-technique specific exercises to train skill acquisition in a graded and progressive manner from junior through to advanced levels. PBT helps teachers around the world prepare their students to receive the strength they need to achieve their personal best.
The program helps with injury prevention and rehabilitation and enhances the ability of athletes to perform at their best. It can be difficult for students to feel which muscles initiate the correct alignment in training. However, with the use of an exercise ball, the students gain a great sense of posture and weight-placement whilst feeling each correct muscle group working throughout each exercise, which then stays with them when whilst performing in dance or their chosen field of sport
PBT focuses on core strength, weight placement and alignment of the body with a gradual approach of carefully designed exercises and repetitions of these exercises that trigger their muscle memory. The program is designed with safe dance methodology to promote a long, healthy career and is now being taught by over 4000+ certified teachers worldwide and over 3500 schools globally have added PBT classes in their curriculum for students.
PBT is not only a program to improve technique in ballet dancers, it is now being appreciated and incorporated in training by all forms of dancers, athletes, physiotherapists and even footballers!
